Adult elm leaf beetle and pupa Japanese beetles are regulated pests. They often cause problems when they fly into open cargo holds of planes.
Japanese beetles skeletonze leaves and are particularly fond on Lindens. Black vine weevils cause a distinctive notching on yew. They feed only at night.
Skeletonization by adult Japanese beetles. Roots of black vine weevils are the most damaging stage. Root drenches of insecticides are generally ineffective against this pest.
