Kathy Heinsohn, Ph.D. to Join NPMA as Staff Entomologist

National Pest Management Association (NPMA) is pleased to announce that Kathy Heinsohn, Ph.D., will join the NPMA family as Staff Entomologist effective January 3, 2006.  Previously, the position was held by Dr. Harold Harlan, who recently left NPMA to work with the U.S. military as a consultant entomologist.

Dr. Heinsohn joins NPMA with a strong technical background and has worked with customers, technicians and managers for the past seven years as a Regional Consulting Entomologist with Virginia based Western Industries.  In that role, she provided training and education as well as worked with commercial accounts to develop pest management programs.

In her new role as NPMA Staff Entomologist, Kathy will develop educational programs and training as well as interact with members and consumers by providing technical services.  "We are very excited to have Kathy a part of our team and we look forward to her sharing her industry knowledge and expertise with our membership," said Rob Lederer, Executive Vice President, NPMA.

Kathy Heinsohn is a native of South Carolina and holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in Zoology from Clemson University in South Carolina .  She later obtained her Ph.D. in Urban Entomology at Purdue University .  Dr. Heinsohn currently resides in Brunswick , Maryland .
