Special interests: Genetics including molecular genetics, Genetic Transformation, application of marker technology in breeding especially in cowpeas; hunting for genes of resistance/ tolerance to bruchid, Aphid, Striga, Alectra, physiological traits such as drought, flowering and maturity, grain and fodder yield, quality traits-cooking time etc; reproductive traits and their introgression into locally adapted genetic backgrounds; seeds and seed dissemination issues.

Position:  Senior Scientist/Lecturer Genetics & Breeding, Ahmadu Bello University, Zari, Nigeria 

Current: Principal Investigator of IAEA-TC Project in Nigeria concerns with development of improved mutant cowpea varieties; Team Member of the PRONAF Project in Nigeria-An IFAD funded cowpea technology development and deployment project
