Areas of Expertise: Genetic improvement of cowpea for small- and large-scale agriculture. Breeding for resistance to insects, heat and drought and for enhanced grain quality. Cowpea in West and Eastern African cropping systems

Current Position: Cowpea Breeder, Dept. of Botany and Plant Sciences, University of California, Riverside, Riverside CA, USA Current Activities: I conduct an applied cowpea breeding program in the US, and am engaged in genetic studies and in cowpea germplasm enhancement activities in collaboration with West African cowpea breeders under the Bean/Cowpea CRSP.
