Canddidate Deadlines for Graduate Sudents

Please reference this calendar as well as the list below for important deadlines for Fall 2016 graduate candidates.

·         Saturday, December 19, 2015: Preliminary Exam Deadline (Doctoral Students Only)

 

·         Sunday, August 21, 2016: Plan of Study Deadline

The plan of study must be submitted by the student, signed by all advisory committee members and all appropriate departmental staff, and awaiting only Graduate School processing by 11:59 p.m. on this date for the student to be eligible for candidacy for fall.

 

·         Wednesday, September 21, 2016: Candidacy Deadline

 

·         Friday, October 14, 2016: Final Exam/Deposit Deadline for CAND 99200/99300 Registrants

 

·         Friday, December 2, 2016: Final Exam Deadline for CAND 99100 Registrants

 

·         Friday, December 9, 2016: Thesis Deposit Deadline for CAND 99100 Registrants

 

·         Sunday, December 18, 2016: Commencement  

 

Students who miss any of the deadlines in red may incur a $200 Late Graduation Deadline Fee if they would like to maintain their candidate status for this session. Candidates who request to make updates to an already deposited thesis or dissertation, or who have been listed on the Graduate School’s candidate roster for the same degree more than two consecutive sessions, may also incur this fee. These dates, as well as other key 2016-17 deadlines, are available online on the Graduation Deadlines Calendar webpage for your reference.

Registration is open for the Fall 2016 semester. Add any courses and your research credit now.

 

If you are planning on graduating, please let Amanda know as soon as possible so you can add candidacy to your schedule!

Purdue Graduate Student Government Callout

August 24, the Purdue Graduate Student Government will hold a call out – see the flyer here . The graduate student center is also holding a picnic and grad student center open house on the Engineering Mall September 2nd, more information on the picnic can be found on this flyer , and more information on the graduate student center regular hours and features here

Revised Graduate Student Employment Manual Available

Annually, the Graduate School, in cooperation with a number of offices across campus, updates the Graduate Staff Employment Manual to reflect changes in University policies, processes, and other new information applicable to the employment of graduate assistants.

Insecticide Resistance offered Fall 2016

ENTM 692: Insecticide Resistance will be offered this Fall and taught by Dr. Michael Scharf. 1 credit hour, 9:30 to 10:20 on Mondays. Add CRN 18917 to your schedule to take the course!

electronic Prelim/ Final Exam forms

Prelim and final examinations must be scheduled at least two weeks in advance with the graduate school via the plan of study website found on MyPurdue. If the final exam is not scheduled, you cannot graduate. This is in addition to scheduling the exam with Dr. Yaninek. Soft Rollout for New Electronic Thesis Acceptance FOrm

The thesis office has announced the soft rollout of the new online Thesis Acceptance Form. Please note that usage of the ETA form will be optional throughout 2016, and the Thesis office will continue to accept paper thesis forms during the soft rollout period. Information about the ETA will be included in the upcoming thesis workshop presentations.

Bug Bytes - News for Purdue Entomology Students:  The Bug Bytes e-newsletter is sent on Wednesdays of each week.  To request posting information in the newsletter, email a maximum of 3–4 sentences by noon on the preceding Friday to bugbytes@purdue.edu.  You should include event title, date, time, location and a brief event description.  Descriptions and other information can be provided as a webpage link or a pdf document.  Information should pertain to campus-related activities only.
