University Withdraw FAQ for Summer 2017

For dropping one or all classes during the summer term/summer sessions:

•Dropping last class and the session it's in hasn’t started yet, the student may email registrar@purdue.edu from @purdue.edu requesting drop

•Dropping last class and the session it's in has started, student should initiate University withdraw in myPurdue

•Dropping one class for a future session and staying in class for current session, the student may update in myPurdue

•Dropping class for current session and keeping a class in future or current session, the student should complete a form 23 with signatures required on Drop/Add calendar

•Dropping a class for a current session and remaining in a completed session with a grade, student should initiate University withdraw in myPurdue

•Dropping a class for a future session and remaining in a completed session with a grade, student may drop in myPurdue if not yet started or University withdraw in myPurdue

Student Employment Opportunity at CERIS

The Center for Environmental and Regulatory Information Systems (CERIS) is looking for an undergraduate student in Agriculture who has the ability to scan documents, perform web searches, post articles and update user information for the Cooperative Agricultural Pest Survey (CAPS) information services project. This is a 5-10 hours a week temporary position through the end of the 2017 spring semester and then a 20-40 hour/week temporary position for the 2017 summer session.  The CERIS offices are located in the Purdue Research Park.  For more information, please contact Cindy Music at (765) 496 – 2381, clmusic@purdue.edu.  Pay is $10/hour.

Summer 2017 Dates and Reminders

·         Saturday, August 5, 2016: Preliminary Exam Deadline (Doctoral Students Only)

·         Wednesday, June 7, 2017: Candidacy Deadline

·         Friday, June 23, 2017: Final Exam/Deposit Deadline for CAND 99200/99300 Registrants

·         Friday, July 21, 2017: Final Exam Deadline for CAND 99100 Registrants

·         Friday, July 28, 2017: Thesis Deposit Deadline for CAND 99100 Registrants

·         Saturday, August 5, 2017: Commencement

 

Students who miss any of the deadlines in red may incur a $200 Late Graduation Deadline Fee if they would like to maintain their candidate status for the summer session. Candidates who request to make updates to an already deposited thesis or dissertation, or who have been listed on the candidate roster for the same degree more than two consecutive sessions, may also incur this fee. These dates, as well as other key 2016-17 deadlines, are available online on the Graduation Deadlines Calendar webpage for your reference. They have also been posted on a new “Announcements” page in the Graduate School Database.

 

New Thesis Templates Available

The new thesis templates are live on the Thesis Templates Page: http://www.purdue.edu/gradschool/research/thesis/templates.html

As templates are updates, the newest versions will be uploaded to that webpage, so please check the thesis template page to be sure you are using the most recent version.

Garden Club of America Scholarship

Every year, The Garden Club of America extends an invitation to qualified students at the undergraduate and Post graduate levels to apply for one of their 27 merit based scholarships, fellowships, internships, and awards. The GCA website at www.gcamerica.org/scholarships provides a comprehensive listing of their offerings, application requirements, deadlines, and funding levels, or see the flyer  to learn more about the botanical scholarship offerings.

 

Bug Bytes - News for Purdue Entomology Students:  The Bug Bytes e-newsletter is sent on Wednesdays of each week.  To request posting information in the newsletter, email a maximum of 3–4 sentences by noon on the preceding Friday to bugbytes@purdue.edu.  You should include event title, date, time, location, and a brief event description.  Descriptions and other information can be provided as a webpage link or a pdf document.  Information should pertain to campus-related activities only.
