·         Spring 2017 Classes End – Saturday, April 29

·         Final Exams Week – Monday–Saturday, May 1-6

·         Deadline for pending incomplete grades to become failing grades – Saturday, May 6 by 5:00 pm

·         Semester Ends – Saturday, May 6

·         Spring 2017 Commencement Division I Graduate School (All schools and colleges) – Friday, May 12 at 3:00 pm

·         Spring 2017 Commencement Division IV Agriculture – Saturday, May 13 at 2:30 pm

News & Events for Undergrads

Student Employment Opportunity at CERIS

The Center for Environmental and Regulatory Information Systems (CERIS) is looking for an undergraduate student in Agriculture who has the ability to scan documents, perform web searches, post articles and update user information for the Cooperative Agricultural Pest Survey (CAPS) information services project. This is a 5-10 hours a week temporary position through the end of the 2017 spring semester and then a 20-40 hour/week temporary position for the 2017 summer session.  The CERIS offices are located in the Purdue Research Park.  For more information, please contact Cindy Music at (765) 496 – 2381, clmusic@purdue.edu.  Pay is $10/hour.

 

 

News & Events for Grads

Register for Summer Research Hours and Graduation NOw!

Registration is open for the Summer and Fall 2017 semesters. Add any courses and your research credit now. If you are planning to graduate, please let Amanda know as soon as possible so you can add candidacy to your schedule!

 

Some things to keep in mind as you add your summer research/course hours:

·         A maximum of 9 credits taken during Summer session are permitted.

·         Graduate staff must be registered for at least 3 credits in at least one of the Summer modules in order to hold their assistantships

Candidate Deadlines for Graduate Students, Spring 2017

Please reference  list below for important deadlines for Fall 2016 graduate candidates.

·         Saturday, May 7, 2016: Preliminary Exam Deadline (Doctoral Students Only)

·         Friday, April 21, 2017: Final Exam Deadline for CAND 99100 Registrants

·         Friday, April 28, 2017: Thesis Deposit Deadline for CAND 99100 Registrants

 

Students who miss any of the deadlines in red may incur a $200 Late Graduation Deadline Fee if they would like to maintain their candidate status for the spring session. Candidates who request to make updates to an already deposited thesis or dissertation, or who have been listed on the candidate roster for the same degree more than two consecutive sessions, may also incur this fee.

New Thesis Templates Available

The new thesis templates are live on the Thesis Templates Page: http://www.purdue.edu/gradschool/research/thesis/templates.html

As templates are updates, the newest versions will be uploaded to that webpage, so please check the thesis template page to be sure you are using the most recent version.

Every year, The Garden Club of America extends an invitation to qualified students at the undergraduate and Post graduate levels to apply for one of their 27 merit based scholarships, fellowships, internships, and awards. Bug Bytes - News for Purdue Entomology Students:  The Bug Bytes e-newsletter is sent on Wednesdays of each week.  To request posting information in the newsletter, email a maximum of 3–4 sentences by noon on the preceding Friday to bugbytes@purdue.edu.  You should include event title, date, time, location, and a brief event description.  Descriptions and other information can be provided as a webpage link or a pdf document.  Information should pertain to campus-related activities only.
