- 4 weight classes:
- Featherweight: Up to 1 lbs.
- Lightweight: Up to 5 lbs.
- Mid Size: Up to 15 lbs.
- Heavyweight: Up to 20 lbs.
- A 2% error factor will be used for scale differentials
- Only self-contained power systems
--No combustion engines
- No present hazards
--Damage must be contained to only opposing robot, any inherent
threats to judges or the crowd present on arobot are illegal
and cause for disqualification. Projectiles, lazers, and
high rpm spinning weaponry are all examples of features that
could be determined by the judges to be unduly hazardous.
- Robots must be capable of movement
- No liquids allowed
- The robot must be singular, no detachments that propel themselves.
- No organic components
- Your robot should be able to operate on no less than two
radio control frequencies in order to prevent interference
conflicts.
- All robots must have a kill switch to ensure proper emergency
shutdown
- All machines are subject to review prior to battle by organizers
of the event in order to ensure the safety of judges, spectators,
and participants. If your device is found in violation of any
rules it is subject to removal from the competition.
- All robots must resemble an arthropod of some type. We are
partial to insects, but other arthropods are welcome. Movement
on wheels is not allowed; all robots must move by means of
six or more jointed legs. insect or arachnid.

- The combat surface will be constructed by the Thomas Say
Entomological Society, it will be sufficient to accommodate
the 4 different weight classes.
- During battle your robot cannot leave the combat area or
it is automatically declared the loser.
- No projectile weapons
- Entanglement weapons are allowed though due to the biological
reality of them
- No bodily interference
- No jamming your opponent’s controller
- Each round consists of three successive 4 minute battles.
The winner will be the best of the three. Winning a battle
can be decided by either: knocking opponent out of the battle
area, destruction of opponent, or opponent malfunction. Winners
will move on to the next round.
- Competitors have 1 minute before to battle to ensure robot
is functioning
- A robot handler can “tap out” to ensure that their device
is not destroyed. No fake tap outs, these will result in an
instant forfeit of the round not just the battle

- Three judges, one referee for the competition.
- Judges will be impartial non participators.
- Judges can call a contest at any time.
- All judges’ decisions are final.
- There will also be an inspector crew to ensure the safety
compliance of all robots.
- The ultimate winner of each weight class will receive a prize
package and trophy. There will also be trophies for the second
place winners.
