Cowpea is a vitally important food for people in Africa . Cowpea's full potential is not realized due to constraints such as insects, diseases, and underdeveloped seed production and distribution systems. The opportunity to work with bright African and other world-renowned scientists and policy makers to develop and utilize biotechnology and seed systems for cowpea in Africa is a very exciting opportunity for me.
